Google Ad Grants

Google Ad Grants: Nonprofits Listen Up!

Are you a nonprofit?

Do you have a website?

If you answered “yes” to those two questions, stop everything you’re doing and read on. Google is offering something to nonprofits that has the potential to completely overhaul the way you’ve been handling your online advertising.

Have you ever heard of Google AdWords?

Imagine that you’re looking for the perfect food brand for your dog, so you turn to Google and search for “best dog food”. At the top of the search results, there will a couple brands with the word “Ad” next to them. This is what Google AdWords does. It puts their clients brand at the top of the results, which allows that company to attract more customers and reach the right people at the right time.

So you’re thinking, okay, that’s great, but I don’t sell dog food. Here’s where you come in: Google has AdWords for nonprofits, and you may qualify to get $10,000 worth of it each month.

Yes, you read that right. The program is called Google Ad Grants. There is criteria you have to meet to be eligible, but basically you just have to be a nonprofit and have a website.

Google Ad Grants works just like AdWords by displaying your message to people who are searching for a nonprofit like you. These Google ads will help people be more aware of your cause, and even bring in more donations and volunteers.

Take, for example, Elder Wisdom Circle, a non-profit that connects young people seeking advice with elders willing to give it. In one year of being a part of the Google Ad Grants program, 71% of all visitors were referrals from AdWords. Elder Wisdom Circle was also able to reach 240% more supporters. Crazy, right? Check out this video to hear a testimony from Doug Meckelson, the founder who runs the insanely successful nonprofit out of his basement.

Imagine how many more people you can reach by utilizing Google Grants. These ads will make it easier for people to get information about you, and when that process is easier, it’s more likely that people will volunteer, donate, or support you.

So, how do you get started? The first step is to reach out to someone who is an expert in the process and how to use AdWords effectively.

Here at Blayzer, we know a few things about Google. We’re actually a Google Partner, which is a pretty big deal. We worked hard to become a partner, and now we’re able to take our clients’ digital marketing campaigns to the next level. Check out this short blog to read more about how we became a Google Partner (we’re pretty proud).

We’ve worked with non-profits before, like Imagination Learning Center and Kranzberg Arts Center. We also team up with Google Experts and learn from them, so we’re constantly improving our Google game.

If you think Google Ad Grants and $10,000 worth of online advertising per month is something your nonprofit could benefit from, contact Blayzer and we’ll help get you started.
